Dear Grandpa Newt,
I'm gonna miss you so much and words will never be able to describe how sad I am over this.I'm going to miss your scratchy mustache and that yummy fudge that you used to always make.It makes me sad that every birthday I have from now on won't be the same without you singing to me. I'm so grateful that you were picked to be my grandpa, because you were the BEST! You and grandma have always backed me 100% and stood by me just the same. Thank you for all the wonderful memories I get to file away
and keep forever.I'm so happy that I was able to see you and tell you how much I love you and hold your hand one more time. You are and will forever be in my heart and thoughts forever and ever, and I'm quite sure you'll be the angel sitting on my shoulder keeping me sane.I Love you and will miss you something fierce.

Dean, you will be missed by so many. I feel so fortunate to have had you in my life, via your son, Bud. He is so like you, and I am grateful for that. We've witnessed your love for Nita, and I am fortunate enough to benefit from your example. Yours was a love story for the ages. That is your Legacy. I love you very, very, very much.

Nita and Family: Darlene's brother Dick, gave us news about Dean. I want all of you to know he was one of my favorite all-time friends, even though distance and time has kept us apart. The world will not be the same without his great humor, kind heart and love for life. We miss you too, Nita and know this is tough and may God Bless you and your family in this lost that we all feel. To me Dean was always "Mr. United Air Lines", as it was when we worked together in the late 50's and early 60's - an extended family company that had integrity, employee loyalty and hired the best employees one could ever affiliate with.

Just like me you had what appeared to be a rough exterior, but we never fooled anyone who really knew us as the soft hearted men we really are. I look forward to our reunion in heaven. May god comfort you. I love you and will miss you dearly.

What
an extraordinarily loving man! I am so so sorry for your loss,
Nita--what joy you two have brought to so many people! Dean was one of
my Mom's favorite people, and mine, too. I realize Dean was just 12
when I was born at St. Vincent's hospital in Portland, where my Mom
stayed for a while with Minnie after I was born. Thank you for all of
your loving kindnesses to me and my family. You are much much loved. I
will never forget your visit and our trip to Alcatraz! What a joy to
have you two stay with us. And the wonderful reunion that Dean and I
planned in Bend! Dean was the backbone of the Fletcher family--I miss
him and his inspiring emails and words.
