Eldon Eugene Coberly

Eldon, born December 24, 1920 and passed away peacefully on August 21, 2013 just south of his 50 year home in Normandy Park, WA. Eldon was born to parents William Sankey and Louise Susan (Nester) Coberly. Eldon was born and raised in Kingman, Kansas before moving to Wichita where he and wife Mary lived until 1963 before moving to the Seattle area.

Eldon and Mary married on September 10, 1943 giving birth to two sons. Eldon is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, both sons and their spouses Kenneth (Linda) of Redmond, WA and Robert (Nina) of Taipei, Taiwan. Eldon is also survived by his older sister Enid Stutzman of Manhattan, KS, grandchildren; Aaron (Brenda), Karen Barker (Matt), Roxanne, Callie, and Kyle (Elyse). Eldon has 4 great grandchildren; Caspian, Katie Barker, Megan Barker, and Duncan. Eldon also has three nephews; David Stutzman, James Gillespie, and William Gillespie. Eldon continually displayed his love for his family in many ways and had many friends as a result of his amazing spirit that everyone enjoyed.

Eldon's 42 year long career with in the airplane industry began with Stearman Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, the United States Army Air Force, returning to Sterman before it was purchased by The Boeing Co. Eldon retired from Boeing in Renton, WA with a career that went from hanger maintenance to Director of Materiel at Boeing Renton managing 650 employees. Eldon was highly respected for his dedication to the company, ethics, hard work, spirit, and fairness with people.

Eldon was a 55 year member of the Kingman Kansas Freemason Grand Lodge. Eldon will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and everyone who was blessed to come into contact with him but after several years of Alzheimer's, he is in a better place.

There will be a grave side service in Cunningham, Kansas in late September beside extended family members that preceded him.
