Eldon Torsey Obituary
Eldon Alex Torsey, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 20, 2013, in Shoreline, WA. He was born on September 27, 1923 in Faulkton, SD. He moved to Seattle in 1941, and was a radio gunner in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He returned to Seattle in 1946, where he attended the UW, met and married his wife Joann, and raised his family. He was an Allstate Insurance agent for 37 years.
Eldon loved music, playing in dance bands as a young man and singing in barbershop choruses for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman, with a special passion for the waters of the Pacific Northwest. Sailing, fishing, bird hunting, golf and following Seattle sports teams were his favorite pastimes. Eldon and Joann traveled the US and the world. He was a longtime member of the Free Masons and a Shriner.
Eldon was preceded in death by his infant son, William, his sister Mildred Stensland, and his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Joann; one daughter and son-in-law, Janice K. Kearns and Frank Kearns; two sons, Eldon Wade Torsey and Scott Herbert Torsey; three grandchildren, Samantha Baker-Weller, Alex Torsey, and Chrysallis Lucero; and one great grandson.
There will be a celebration of life for Eldon on Friday September 27, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at the Nile Shrine Center in Mountlake Terrace. Those wishing to remember him may contribute to the Shrine Children's Hospitals, the American Diabetes Association, or the American Heart Association.
Eldon will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

The best Uncle in the world. Spent much time with me and my brother, Gary. He shared his time and taught us many life experiences.
