Ella Conroy Obituary

Ella Margaret (Mades) CONROY February 20, 1927~November 28, 2007 Peggy recently celebrated her 80th birthday, although she always claimed to be 29. Peggy graduated from West Seattle High School, from where both her father and mother also graduated. As a young child Peggy loved to dance, travel and spend weekends on her father's boat. These joys continued throughout her lifetime as she combined traveling the world with square dancing. Peggy believed that the most important lessons in life were to work every day, invest in the future and protect your health. Peggy met her husband, John (Jack to many friends) while she was working at the Admiral Way Soda Fountain (the year it opened) and they were happily married on March 29, 1946 at St. Johns Church. Peggy is survived by her best friend and loving husband, John; daughters, Claire Louise Conroy and Kay Joet Turner (Scott); son, Walter John Conroy; grandsons, John, Raleigh, David, Jesse and Joshua; 2 granddaughters, Mia and Celena and many great-grandchildren. Private Graveside Services will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A Memorial Celebration, for friends and family to honor Peggy's Life, will be held at Alki Congregational Church on December 8th at 3:00 p.m.; 6115 SW Hinds (West Seattle). In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Aegis of Kent; 10421 SE 248th Street, Kent, WA 98031. www.aegisliving.com. John Conroy still resides at Aegis of Kent.
