Frances Finkelstein Obituary

Frances (Fran) FINKELSTEIN Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died Friday, October 3, 2008, as a result of her failing health. Born Frances Rose Sidell on April 6, 1921, she lived her whole life in Seattle where she married Murray Finkelstein on January 31, 1943 and raised four beautiful children, attended their marriages, her grandchildren's marriages and enjoyed the love of her great-grandchildren. Fran always had a smile on her face, love in her heart, and opera on her lips. After raising her children she spent her spare time working for the Beth Shalom Sisterhood in many positions, including president until her health no longer permitted outside activities. Fran's greatest disappointment was the loss of her eldest daughter, Cheryl, in 1967 and as a result loved and appreciated her extended family even more. She is survived by her children, Bobbi (and Ira) Silverman, Alan (and Cassie) Finkelstein and Sandi Finkelstein. She will live forever in the hearts of her grandchildren, Suzie Kaitz, Charlie (and Candy) Silverman, Dan (and Kathy) Silverman, Cherie (and Derek) Knudsen, Dr. Steven (and Keely) Finkelstein, Taylor Hain, Elissa Finkelstein, and Isaac Hain as well as her great-grand children Kelsey Hinkle, Ariel Kaitz and Fiona Knudsen. Memorial service will be held at Bikur Cholim Chapel, 1340 N 115th St., Seattle, 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2008, followed by burial next to her beloved Murray at Bikur Cholim Cemetery. The family asks that memorial donations be made at Group Health Hospice. "In the air I breathe I know she is there To guide and protect all who she loved I will forever be grateful I was born through her to love I am now who she was." Amanda Hampton
