I will certainly miss you, Mama Gates! You touched my life with your easy-going spirit and generous, warm heart. I remember fondly the many bus caravans and retreats that we shared . . . you were our cook and we were the ravenous, crazy high-schoolers. We certainly didn’t go hungry with all of the great food you made! I always anticipated your soft ginger snap cookies that you would make especially for the retreats. We could count on you to never get frazzled, even around dozens of kids! I also have fond memories of the times that we shared at your home making cookies and “cackling” as you would call it! Linda, I also wanted to thank you for being such a faithful, attentive daughter. Mama, say “hi” to my Mom and Gramma for me. God has truly blessed me through you! Love,

Freda brings such rich and wonderful memories to me. I remember many retreats full of laughter and great food - made by her, of course. What a sweet spirit. I'll never forget our Boardman ministry camp, when Freda made a personal commitment to Christ. We were all moved to tears! Freda, you are in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We miss you now, but we will surely see you again!
