George M. DONAHOE An iconic figure in the ocean side community of Ocean Shores,WA, died suddenly on Monday, January 9, 2012. George grew up in Seattle graduating from Lincoln High School in 1959 and attended the University of Washington. Moving to the coast in 1962 with his family, George also attended Grays Harbor Jr. College while assisting his parents with the management of their resort, Alexander's by the Sea. He became infatuated with the life at the coast and even then dreamed of the potential that lay at his feet. That dreaming led to the establishment of one of the first time share condominiums in the State of Washington. George became an acknowledged leader in the time share and vacation ownership industry. He was a significant contributor to the growth and development of the industry serving at one time as the National Sales Manager for RCI, the largest timeshare exchange company in the world. George ultimately returned to Ocean Shores where he acquired and successfully sold out the Windjammer time share condominium. George always had a new idea, a new project and a new dream and most important the unbridled enthusiasm to pursue each. In 2010, George opened Donahoe Brokers realty and rolled up his sleeves, there was work to be done. George loved the beach and the people who reside there. He was a dedicated family man, survived by his wife MaryLou of 43 years, daughter Dawn, sons Kelly and Gerry, four grandchildren, brothers Bill, Charlie and Jim Donahoe, Sisters Roseanne Donahoe and Darcy BishopHe touched many hearts and will be greatly missed. An informal memorial will be held at Faith Community Church, Ocean Shores, Wa., January 28, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

To the Donahoe Family
TWe used to own a time share at the Windjammer ...It was George's suggestion that we move to Ocean Shores as house painters were needed. After praying about it ..we put our house in Portland on the market and it sold..That was in 1993. WE have no regrets ...we love it here' We have aprreciated the kindness of the donahoe family ....Praying for you at this difficult time ...Donald and Kathleen Rictor ..
