The world would be in a kinder and gentler place if everyone followed Gordy's example of living life with kindness, patience, humor and intelligence. When I hear a Beatle's song I will think of you Gordy! Love and hugs to you Mary and family.

The first word that comes to mind when I think of Gordon is kind. While working with him he would always come with a smile, a sense of calm and a solution! He is greatly missed. My deepest condolences to his family.

I have lasting memories of my time growing up around Uncle Johnny and Aunt Charmaine and the rest of the family in Yakima and Seattle. Those occasions brought me great joy, because of the infectious laughter and togetherness that was visibly displayed with their family. For me, nobody visibly displayed this type of behavior more than Gordon Hayes. He will truly be missed by all of us left to remember his caring demeanor.Love, Tim McDaniel

Sly grin, quick wit, and "I got your back" attitude just crest the tip of the iceberg of Gordon, he is and will be missed by all of us.

Simply one of the best parts of my work day was seeing him walking around. Just a complete gut punch to lose a person who made the world more simple, calm and cooler. I will never forget him.

Calm, cool, and kind. That's how I'll remember Gordon. Working at KCPQ, I often came to him quite frustrated about a computer or technical issue. He would flash that sly smile and put me at ease, patiently and magically solving what I thought was unsolvable, and we would joke around and talk about the Seahawks. I miss him, and can only imagine the loss to his family. My heartfelt condolences.

I am deeply sorry to hear about Gordon's passing. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones. I worked with Gordon for 10 years at KCPQ and have a lot of great memories. He was the answer man that the entire station would go to for any type of technical computer issue, which a lot of times he would solve with a reboot... He was patient, friendly to everyone, and always calm and cool. I appreciated his sense of humor and loved talking music with him and sharing laughs. He will be very missed. Rest in peace my friend.

Gordy was one of the nicest guys I knew at Blanchette, so sorry to hear of his passing :(

Deepest sympathies to the extended Hayes family. Both Dave and I had the pleasure of working with Gordon at KCTS 9. One of my favorite memories was his hilarious lesson at a staff meeting teaching us all about the importance of using the right password. I loved his ever present humor. Much love - Hildy Ko

Gordon was the kindest, most gentle and funniest person I have ever worked with. At the worst possible moments, he would say something that would crack me up laughing.

I was saddened to learn today of Gordon's passing. He was one of my favorite people at KCTS when we worked together. I very much appreciated all his help, patience, cheerful disposition and sense of humor.
Gordon loved music and I remember how fun it was to attend the Stones concert with Gordon and Mary, along with his brother.
My deepest condolences to Mary and the family, with special prayers for Gordon. May he rest in peace.

Gordy was always one of my cousins that I never spent enough time with, but always walked away feeling like I wanted to see him more. Always kind, funny, and greeted me with a big smile on his face. He willingly helped me out when I had problems with my computer and, would sincerely ask how my kids and I were doing. To me, he was a very successful man. Raising his family, along with Mary, was so very important to him. In my eyes, it's the single most important thing that a man can do, and it's even harder for men of color.
Years ago, my father asked me what my idea of success was. He thought I would say that was of monetary value... property, position of power or management, ownership, etc... He was so shocked when I told him that providing for , and raising my kids to be solid young ladies , would be my single most important idea of success in my life. He actually wanted to argue about it because it was different from what he thought. Long story short, he did understand that this was my success, not his. All this time, I didn't know that Gordy had what I was string to have. When it's all said and done family is everything, absolutely everything. I will always remember you, Gordy. And I'll smile every time!

Dearest Gordon was everyone's favorite IT guy at KCTS also. I will always remember his smile and that laugh. Most of all, I remember how his face would light up whenever he talked about his family. Rest well, dear friend.
