Gunnar J. Andersen

Gunnar J. ANDERSEN Born in Narvik, Norway on February 18, 1912, died of COPD on June 17, 2004. Gunnar came to Boston, Mass. at the age of three years old, and lived there until 1945, when the family moved to Seattle. He was a painter working for his father from high school until his father's death, then he worked for other contractors in Boston, until moving to Seattle. After a year in Seattle, he started his own painting contracting business, which he maintained until retirement at age 70. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Edith, daughter Janice Farr (Don), granddaughters Tiffany A. Ribera (Casey) and Crystal A. Farr, and two great grandchildren Hayley Ribera and Jaxsyn Ribera. Grandson Derek A. Farr predeceased him in 1977. At his request no funeral services will be held, but a gathering of family and friends will be held at the family home on Sunday, July 11, 2004, from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. Remembrances in his name would be appreciated to Evergreen Hospice Services, 12822 124th Lane N.E., Kirkland, WA. 98034, or the Seattle Fire Department, both of whom were wonderful with their continual assistance.
