Harold Estby Obituary

Harold R. "Bob" ESTBY Passed away on April 24. He was born in Selleck, WA on Feb. 20, 1933. Bob graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1952 and Central Washington University in 1956, then served in the Army from 1956-1958. He sang in the Fort Ord Soldier's Chorus and in a quartet that appeared on the Ted Mack Original Amateur Hour. Bob began teaching choral music in 1958 at the Enumclaw Junior High School, and then moved to the high school where he taught until his retirement in 1987. In 1976 he founded the Community Choir, which he led for many years and is now the Cascade Foothills Chorus. He enjoyed golf and fishing and especially spending time with his beloved grandsons, Ryan, Scott and Casey. Bob is survived by wife, Karen of the home; daughter, Paula Koehler of Snohomish; sons, Warren and Christopher Estby; stepchildren, Andy Smith of Buckley and Barbara Gourley (Edward) of Maple Valley; grandsons, Casey Smith of Wilkeson, Ryan and Scott Gourley of Maple Valley and Andrew Gourley of Moses Lake; brother, William Estby (Jan Turner) of Snoqualmie; Aunt Lois Estby of Enumclaw; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A private interment will take place. An Open House is planned for Friday, May 2 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the clubhouse at Mt. Villa Estates, 1099 Mt. Villa Drive, Enumclaw. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Enumclaw Regional Hospital, P.O. Box 905, Enumclaw, WA 99022 or Enumclaw Fire Dept Aide Car, 1330 Wells Street, Enumclaw, WA 98022.
