Harold Weeks Obituary

Harold F. WEEKS Dr. Harold F. Weeks "Hal" died peacefully at Evergreen Hospital on November 18, 2007. He was born on October 16, 1928 in Portland, Oregon. He worked as a physician in Bellevue and Mercer Island. After retiring from medicine he moved to Belltown where he was active in community politics. Hal was enthusiastic about new books from the Seattle Public Library, Washington red wines, and bridge played with friends at Merrill Gardens and Madison House. Always the optimist and perpetually curious, he loved meeting people. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Regan, Diana, and Kathi, his granddaughters, Maia and Hayden, and his many friends. No formal remembrances are requested. A memorial will be held at a later date.

Hal and I were friends for forty years. We played squash for years. We had lunch together almost every Tuesday during that period and our discussions covered wine, food, politics, ideology, and human nature. Hal was an intelligent well-informed thinker and I miss those weekly meetings and his friendship. Bob Baynham
