Jack Fidler Obituary
1916 ~2013
Jack passed in peace surrounded by love on March 29, 2013. He is survived by his wife Dorothy and 3 children: Susan Sting (Wolfgang), Francie Jajewski (David) and David, and 8 grandchildren: Emilia, Chelsea, Jack, Hayden, Savannah, Ellie, Kian and Anna. He is predeceased by his daughter Anne (1957-2011).
Jack, the baby of 7 children, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He came to Seattle in 1936 where he pursued and realized his version of the American Dream, including military service in WW1 and the co-founding of Pace National Corporation.
He was a long-time resident of Madison Park, an avid, gifted athlete who especially enjoyed playing tennis and handball well into his 80's. He loved simple pleasures and spent hours people-watching, happily sitting in the sunshine and musing over all manner of philosophical, social and natural phenomena. He also had an impressive ability to find money all over the world.
Jack will be affectionately remembered for his kindness, generosity, invincible sense of humor, equanimity, irrepressible whistling and commitment to family, orderliness, moderation and old clothes. His remarkable ability to exist at ease in the present tense--alert and accepting--was a grace and inspiration to all who knew him.
We will miss him.

He was a great friend to my uncle Harry Goldberg and a great help to me when we had to close up his apartment. He will be fondly remembered.
