Jack Wilder passed away Tuesday July 12, 2016 of natural causes at the age of 90.

He was born in Vallejo Ca. to John C. Wilder and Mary May Siddons, the oldest of 3 boys.

Jack graduated from Inglewood California High School at the age of 16 and went to work as a welder at the Douglas Aircraft factory, while he awaited his chance to enlist.

After an honorable discharge in 1944 from the Navy due to polio, and the conclusion of WWII, he became the station manager of Pan American World Airways on Wake Island.

He met his wife of 60+ years, Reta E. Jones, on a blind date. She proceeded him in death on 6/24/2014.

Upon moving to Bellevue WA in the fall of 1961, Jack and Reta were founding members of Aldersgate Methodist church.

He spent the majority of his career in sales with U.S. Electrical Motors and Hampton Power Products. Jack and Reta both retired to work for many years as tour directors, traveling the world via cruise ship, bus and train.

Upon a second retirement, Jack continued to partake in his lifelong passions of snow skiing, model airplane building and hiking, until his age and health dictated he could no longer play outdoors.

Jack is survived by his sons Martin (Beth), Bruce (Gail) and 3 grandchildren, Matt Wilder (Kelly), Loren Hutton (Devon) and Alexandra Wilder.

Per his request there will not be a service, his ashes will be spread in his beloved Cascade Mountains. Remembrances can be posted on the Bleitz Funeral Home web site or by giving to your favorite charity in his name.
