James L. ACORD The Transmutation of James L. Acord 10/19/44 ~ 1/9/2011 Artist James L. Acord, 66, passed away 1/9. Public memorial on Sat. 3/12, at the New Orleans restaurant in Seattle. Jim was once an altar boy, a cowboy, a farm hand, a master stone carver, and an artist in residence at Imperial College London. He was the only individual granted a nuclear materials license. His art works include the Monstrance for a Grey Horse and reliquaries related to his desire to sculpt transmuted nuclear materials.
