James Rose Obituary

James Albert ROSE James Albert Rose passed away five days after his 94th birthday, Feb. 6, 2008, in Tacoma, WA. Jim will be deeply and profoundly missed by the remaining Rose family and close friends. He was the son of John and Martha Rose, broth er to Hubert and Ernest. He was born in Green Forest Arkansas, where he grad uated from high school. In 1940 he and his brothers moved to southern Califor nia to work at Lockheed building P-51 Mustangs. He served in the 15th Air Force from 1943 to 1945, becoming one of the legendary air fighters of the 456th Bomb Group. In 1944, while on leave, he married his sweet heart from Green Forest Arkansas, Grace Marie Ownbey. Then, after completing business school in 1946, Grace and James returned to southern California where James began his accounting career. They had one son, James Paul Rose. Jim retired in 1976, then moved to Olympia in 1988. Jim lost his beloved wife (Grace Rose) of 60 years in 2004. He is survived by his only son, James Paul Rose; his daugh ter-in-law, Eltrina Rose; grandchildren, Caitlin and Jonathan Rose, and Toysan Dotson; Great grandchildren, Hassani, Ameera, and Munier; sister-in-law, Margaret Rose; and brother and sister - in-law,, John and Evelyn Ownbey. After the loss of his wife, he moved to Federal Way, WA where he lived with his son and daughter-in-law, Eltrina Rose. Viewing and service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2008 at Forest Funeral Home, Olympia from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mills and Mills Memorial Park, Tumwater, WA. Arrangements by Forest Funeral Home, Olympia
