To Jan and Don's family,
I met Jan through a Parkinson's support group. Over the years since that group met, Jan, two other friends and I met regularly for friendly cups of coffee and lots of visiting. We supported each other, laughed and cried together as we experienced the hard jobs of taking care of our dear husbands. Many times Jan and I rode together to the coffee gatherings so we had a lot of one-on-one time to share our life stories. I was always amazed at how many places in the world Jan and Don traveled to. I have so many fond memories of all those times together.
Now, as I say good-bye to Jan, I think of how lovingly she cared for Don and how hard she worked to provide him with the best possible care. It was just a week before her fateful stroke that I had the opportunity to take her to the Greenlake Senior Center to seek counseling on how to have Don enrolled in hospice. I will be forever thankful we had that day together. Jan's commitment to Don's well-being and her deep love for him were evident as she sought the best for him that day.
She will be missed by our support group of four. Rest In peace, Jan. Your life is a testimony to love and devotion.
