Jill Buchanan Obituary

Jill Buchanan

April 4, 1956 ~ October 24, 2015

Jill was born in Yakima, WA to Jerry and June Buchanan. When she was 7, her family moved to Medina and later to Bellevue. Jill was very active during high school where she attended Forest Ridge High School for a year, then moved to California where she attended Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School in El Cajon, CA after a visit to the region for tennis camp. She returned to Forest Ridge for her junior year and then went to Jacksonville, Florida to live with her brother, Jay, who was in the Navy. She graduated from Bishop Kenney High School in Jacksonville. She had planned to study Physical Therapy in Portland, Oregon to help others maintain quality of life. After high school, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

She is survived by her mother, June (Buchanan) Kerwick, of Bellevue, sister, Jana (Buchanan) Olafson, her nephew, Adam Olafson and her niece, Tierney Olafson all of Ramona, CA,

Her Funeral Mass will be held at St. Louise Catholic Church in Bellevue on Friday, November 6 at 2:00pm. A Graveside Service will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Yakima on Monday, November 9 at 1:00pm.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Was sorry to hear about Jill - I have only distant memories from Forest Ridge and graduating with her. Saw her memoriam in the FR Mes Amis magazine. I'm sorry we lost her so soon to a terrible disease.
