John Adams Obituary

John Elmer Adams

John E. "Johnny" Adams, 93, went peacefully home to his Lord and Savior on June 25, 2013. John was a loving husband to his wife of 62 years, Eleanora (Norrie).

A native of Seattle, John was a loyal, humble, kind and gentle man. "He never said a bad thing about anyone," said his sister Mary Daniels.

He enjoyed mountain climbing as a young man, including Mt. Rainier. From childhood, John maintained a lifelong love and enjoyment of God's beautiful creation, often camping and canoeing with his family and friends.

His hobbies included gardening, photography, wood carving and calligraphy.

John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Japan during the closing days of WW II. He worked as a commercial artist at St. Regis/International Paper Company for 30 years.

Always supportive of friends and family, he was a wonderful father to his four daughters: Nancy Smith (Matt), Linda Charcas (David), Mary Beth Brown (Floyd) and Susan Healow (Jim). John is also survived by his wife Norrie, sister Mary and seven grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, Shoreline, on Saturday, June 29th at 2:00 pm. Donations may be made to Seattle Children's Hospital.
