John E. AFDEM, Jr. He passed Monday, 31st of May, 2004 one week before his 86 birthday. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, June; two sons, Jeff of Shoreline and Terry (Gail) of Mt. Vernon; two granddaughters, Kerri (Tim) Hudson of Everett and Tracy (Bill) Kern of Orlando, FL. and three great grandchildren, Marlee, Will and Tyler. He also leaves behind his niece, Sharon Glover of Shoreline, cousin, Dawn Kinseler of Huston, TX., two grandnieces and numerous friends and family. John's brother Harry Afdem and sister, Emma Haggart preceded him in death. Born in Everett John proudly served in WWII, a member of the Marine Corps worked at the Everett Pacific Ship Building and eventually retired from a management career with Safeway. John had a quick wit, a bright sense of humor and could make anyone laugh with his unique drawings. He loved gardening, his dog, his adopted cat and especially sweets. John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Beck's Funeral Home. At John's request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Heart Fund.
