John Stephen BAZIK, Sr. Our Beloved father, John S. Bazik, Sr., passed away April 2, 2008 at age 87. Born in Hazin, Czechoslovakia on September 20, 1920, John came to America with his two siblings, Mike and Emma in 1927. It was during his years as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Corp. that he met and later married, Helen Zier from Moxie, WA on Dec. 10, 1945. John and Helen raised four children in the West Seattle home he built in 1957. John worked for the Seattle Water Department and retired on March 19, 1982 after 32 years. In 2001, John mourned the loss of his beloved wife, whom he had been married to for 55 years. In 2007, John's health declined and he moved in with his son, Jack and daughter-in-law Yvonne, who cared for him until his passing. John is survived by four children: Barbara, Jack, Gary and Ron; and four grandchildren: Sherry, Brian, Ian and Tamara. Funeral Services held at Holy Family Church in White Center, 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 11th 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Seattle Medic One Foundation.
