Lyle C. Schug

Lyle C. SCHUG Lyle C. Schug passed away on November 7, 2004 in Portland Oregon. He was born in Strawberry Point, Iowa on August 17, 1916, the oldest child of Earnest Schug and Lydia Hoyer Schug. He spent his childhood years in eastern Montana, and worked on various ranches as a horse wrangler and ranch hand. Lyle married Margaret Klopp in Seattle on November 7, 1938 and celebrated 65 years of marriage until Margaret's passing on June 2, 2003. He worked as a carpenter for many years throughout the western United States and in the Seattle School District until he retired in 1978, as a proud member of the carpenter's union. Lyle used his carpenter skills to help many family members, neighbors and friends over the years building cabinets, boxes, picnic tables, anything out of wood, and remodeling projects of all kinds. His three children, Madeline Olson, Ken Schug, and Ron Schug survive him. He also leaves his brother, Wayne Schug and sister Wanda Schug, as well as five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Lyle taught his children the importance of hard work, dedication, and honesty. He and Margaret traveled throughout the United States in their motor home after retirement and settled in Meridian Idaho until Margaret's passing. Lyle then moved to Portland, Oregon to live near his daughter Madeline. At Lyle's request no funeral services will be held; his remains were sent to Boise Idaho to be placed along side his loving wife Margaret at the Cloverdale Memorial Park.
