Marc Szeftel Obituary

Marc W. Szeftel

1954 ~ 2015

Beloved brother, uncle and friend, gone too soon from a vibrant humanitarian life. Marc devoted his life to assisting new immigrants teaching English-for-Latinos as a volunteer. Although disabled by chronic lung disease, he had a thriving career teaching English as a second language on Skype to students worldwide. He also adopted a succession of hard-to-place aging dogs. He was beloved for his humor, courage, independent spirit and generous heart.

He passed away at his Burien home on October 19, 2015. He is survived by his sister Sophia Sarvavidya of Seattle and Bangalore, India, and his nephew and caregiver Oisin Keller, niece Deirdre Keller and cousin Anne Wetmore of Seattle, and countless friends.

Memorial Celebration of Life Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, 4:00 to 7:00 pm at West Seattle Eagles Club, 4426 California Ave. SW.

Marc, I am so blessed to be friends with you for over 31 years. With all the memories of concerts and coffee times, you will be still around. Miss you, my friend, and please keep my seat vacant next to you in Rock & Roll Heaven when I finally get my ticket. Thank you for your friendship and you will always be in our hearts.
