Martin Morin Obituary
MARTIN MORIN (SKROCO) - a Loving Husband, Father, Grand&Great-grandfather. Known for his bountiful singing voice, his ability to entertain, and his love for his family and friends.
June 18th, 2014, Martin died peacefully in his sleep, in the comfort of his own home in West Seattle, surrounded by the love of his children.
Martin was born Oct. 27, 1923, on the island of Susak, in Croatia, to his parents, Nicolina & Martin, working with his Grandfather & Father as a fisherman and wine merchant. He grew up with his wife, Catherine (Rina) Picinich, on the island, where they wed in April of 1945 and had their first child, Nicolina Catherine, in 1947.
From Genoa, Italy Skroco, Rina, and Nickie immigrated to America in 1951, arriving in Gig Harbor, Wa, where his son, Martin Morin was born in 1952. They eventually settled the family in West Seattle, where their daughter Cathy Ann Morin was born in 1954. He proudly worked as a Commercial Fisherman with his wonderful Croatian Crews,and a devoted shipbuilder at Duwamish Shipyard for 30 years.
Martin is survived by his daughter, Nickie (Karl), his son, Marty, his grand-kids, Brian (Andria), Katrina, Paul (Cambrielle), Sonny, and three Great Granddaughters. He was welcomed to Heaven by his wife, Rina, his daughter, Cathy, and his parents and siblings.
The family thanks you all for your overwhelming love, support, and prayers. We invite you to the Funeral Services at Holy Rosary Church, W. Seattle, Wed. June 25 9:45am with a celebration of our GREAT COMMANDO'S life to follow. Please bring your singing voice and stories to share!

To my Uncle's family, Carol & I give our sincere condolences. We loved uncle Martin very much. I'm blessed by all the memories he had given me as a child and an adult. The stories and the singing of songs together will last forever. Our prayers are with you all.
