Mary Petrich

Mary PETRICH Of Cle Elum died on December 2nd, 2002 at Royal Vista Care Center in Ellensburg. She was 91. Mary was born in Ronald, WA. and moved to Cle Elum when she was 18 where she shared long lasting and common bonds within the large Croation community in the area. She was active in the Red Cross, PTA, Tanda Club, Voter Registration and assisted her husband at the Cle Elum Cement Plant. Mary and her husband, the late August "Augie" Petrich, thoroughly enjoyed their time spent building friendships as owners of the Cle Elum Tavern (which happenened to be the longest liquor license in the state until Augie passed in 1973). Mary was recently honored as the "Oldest Croation" at the Croation picnic in Roslyn. Mary was preceded in death by her husband August "Augie" Petrich, and is survived by her daughter Louise Petrich (Robert) Iverson of Bellevue, son Alan G (Shirley) Petrich of Cle Elum, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her kind heart will never be forgotten. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., December 14th at St. John the Baptist Church, 303 W 2nd St, Cle Elum.
