Matthew Charles MANVILLE Matthew Charles Manville passed away unexpectedly at his home November 5th, 2011. He wasborn May 29, 1984 in Spokane, Washington to Kenneth and Diana Manville, but had been a resident of the Seattle area for 3.5 years. He worked as a Lead Manufactur- ing Engineer on the 787 Dreamliner. He was a hard worker and well respected by co-workers. Matthew enjoyed golfing and the outdoors. Matt,
I sure miss the funtimes we shared at TCS or watching football at whatever establishment we decided on.
You went on to become an integral part of the 787 project. All of us knew you would do extremely well there.
You were an extremely bright young guy. You went through this life with exceptional intelligence, work ethic, integrity and goodwill toward others. A guy that made everyone around him better.

I worked with Matt at Boeing until my retirement in August. I received an email from a former coworker about his passing. I was shocked to hear the news and so sorry to hear about his passing.
Matt was a very quiet person but he was a very good lead and was liked by everyone he worked with. He had a very promising future ahead of him at Boeing. I know he will be so missed by everyone he knew.
Matt was so young but God must have a plan for him and needed him elsewhere. May he rest in peace and may you find peace in his passing knowing that he WILL make his presence known to his family and friends when least expected.
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless!!

I don't know Matthew, but this is a very cool picture to have in the obits. It looks like he's saying hi and he'll be seeing (you) family and friends soon. What a happy smile-he makes me smile.

It was with great sadness and shock that I received the news of your passing, Matt. I only worked with you for a brief time (1 year) at Boeing, but I came to know you as thoughtful, insightful, and grounded. I appreciated the time you took in teaching me some of the more detail-oriented aspects of the work we did together. When I went up the escalator to confer with you, I was always greeted with a smile. Thank you for being a living example of integrity! Journey well, my friend.

I originally met Matt at Triumph Composite Systems in Spokane when he came in as an intern. Matt was young and eager to dig into the job and learn everything he could while being a summer intern. All of the Engineers and Tech's were very happy when Matt was offered a full time position at TCS. We had some real fun times with Matt not only at work but during our Christmas celebrations in downtown Spokane. Matt had a great head on his shoulders and did a great job at everything he tried. It was great to have a fresh new college grad in the TCS work force especially one from EWU. Since I was an EWU grad Matt and myself did some comparisons of how college was today vs. what it was like back when I graduated in 1985. I don't think much had changed except some of the professors that had retired after I left.
As time went on there were a number of Engineering and ME Planners that decided to head back to Boeing over in the Seattle and Everett area. Many of us took new jobs back at Boeing. It was a pleasant surprise when Matt decided to do the same. I remember when Matt first came over and we drove around Everett and Mukilteo areas looking for him a place to live. Matt was very excited to get over here and dig into a new job at Boeing with the interiors group and start a new adventure on the Westside. Before long Matt learned the new 787 way of doing business and soon became the lead in the group. Matt was very good with people so everyone loved working with him and respected the work he did.
Matt came out numerous times with the Spokane people that moved over to the Seattle and Everett and he always had some good stories about what was going on in his life and his roommates that he had when he first moved over. He adapted well to his new environment and was enjoying his time on this side of the state discovering new things to see and do.
When talking with Matt about his new wife he seemed to light up and tell me all about his future plans and ambitions. He was extremely happy in his life and really liked being married. It was great to see Matt flourishing in life. I will always have great memories of Matt and am very blessed to have spent time with Matt both at work and out of work. Matt is going to be greatly missed not only by myself but by his friends and coworkers at TCS and Boeing.

Matt and I met at Triumph Composite Systems six years ago. Matt was always a loving, caring and happy person. Matt was the most talented young man I have known. Matt was helpful in designing tools that greatly aided our process at the PlyCutter. Matt was my dear friend and I know he will always be in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with his family

From the Moscow 787 Team:
It was a pleasure working with Matt, despite all the cultural differences we had and language barrier he was able to establish great working relationships, effective communication, also, from the first moments we were introduced to each other he was one of the nicest persons we've ever worked with. We will truly miss you.

I was one of Matt's teachers in middle school, and he was in my daughter's graduating class. They were friends, and it was a pleasure to have him in our lives. We are saddened by the news and pray that his family and friends will find peace in the days to come. You were one special guy, Matt! You will always be in our memories and in our hearts.

Another night of goofing around!

I had the pleasure of working with Matt while he worked for Triumph Composite Systems. Matt's attitude and refreshing perspective on projects were always appreciated. We were sorry to see Matt leave and go to work for Boeing, but excited to hear he would still be working directly with us on some projects. It was always a pleasure to see Matt on his occasional return trips to Spokane. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.

Matt was an amazing individual and I feel blessed that I was able to work with him at Triumph and watch him grow into such a talented young man, even more I feel blessed that I can say Matt was a friend. I loved the way his mind worked when it came to solving problems because to him there was always a way to get things done. He had an amazing attitude and always had a smile on his face. What was so great is that he had a way with people that I don't even think he realized. Everyone enjoyed working with or being friends with Matt, listening to the stories he had to tell, or hearing about one of his new ideas. I could write so much about Matt but the one thing I know is the world will not be the same without him. He will always be in my thoughts and his family in my prayers.

Diana and I were pregnant together with our boys being born in 1984. They grew up so fast!! Taylor and Matthew had some fun sleepovers at the Manville log home. They enjoyed hanging out together. They both went to EWU and saw each other occasionally and enjoyed reminiscing about their fun times they had. When Matthew got his first pair of glasses that I remember, I told him he looked so "GQ" , smart and handsome. It was easy to know Matthew. He was always polite, kind and funny. His mom and dad raised a wonderful man. My son Taylor and myself are very saddened with Matthew's passing and it was such a pleasure to of known such a wonderful person! Till we meet again..GOD BLESS!! Jana and Taylor Adams
