Michael O'Farrell Obituary

Michael J. O'FARRELL Following a brief illness, Michael passed from this life into Heaven and the arms of his wife and soul mate Arlene on Memorial Day, May 31, 2010, with his children by his side. He was born in Seattle on September 8, 1937, to Anna and Joseph O'Farrell, later living in Aberdeen with his wife and family for several years before returning with them to spend the remainder of his life in Seattle. He loved music, movies, cooking, singing, and sports, and took great pride in his long Irish heritage. Mostly, he loved and was fiercely devoted to his wife and family. Michael was preceded by his wife of 41 years, Arlene Murphy O'Farrell and his parents, his sister Bridget Napoli and brothers Jerry and Clancy O'Farrell. He is survived and deeply missed by his sister Maureen O'Farrell - Longen; grandsons Samuel, Bradley, David and Joseph; children Matthew (Ginger) Molly (Mathew) Patty (David) Erin (Greg) Terry (Colleen) and Stephen (Julie); his many nieces and nephews, and his close and faithful friends, who all take such comfort that he's reunited with Mom and found his true smile again. Thanks Dad & Mom, for everything. Until we see you again.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 10th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 7000-35th Avenue SW, Seattle, WA 98126, Father Jack Walmesley officiating. Reception to follow at the Parish Hall. Special thanks to Father Jack and the amazing nursing staff at Highline Medical Center.

We are so sorry to hear about your dad. From what I just read, he sure was a wonderful person. J&R also talked about him and how nice he was and how much they enjoyed the times they spent with him. I am sure you have so many great memories of your father, and think of them often. It makes it easier to accept when you can think of him and always find a reason to smile. My prayers are with you during this time. Love Ya, Barb & Bill

We will always remember Mike's laughter and the fun we had with him many many times. We will never forget the day he drove us all around the Seattle area where he lived as a child and also with his family. He remembered so well the joy he always had. We admire his love and devotion to his wife and family. We will miss our yearly Water Taxi rides with Mike. He and Arlene always had a great Irish home cooked meal on St. Patrick's day. Blessings to all of the O'Farrell family.
