Neva Sullivan Obituary

Neva C. (Hein) SULLIVAN We send to eternal rest our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and loyal friend. Neva was born in North Canton, Ohio on November 8, 1923. As a young woman she served as a WAVE in the United States Navy where she met and married Bob Sullivan, her devoted spouse of 63 years. Her family includes: Susie (Alan), Bob (Karla), Mary Catherine Sullivan, OP, Moira, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one soon to be here. She is survived by her three sisters, Dorothy, Betty, and Doris, and numerous nieces and nephews. Neva spent many years in the University District employed at Singer Sewing Machine Co. and J.C. Penney's, as well as at the Northgate store. After her retirement, she found much joy in gathering often with "the Penney girls." We celebrate her life at a Vigil of Remembrance, Monday, Sept. 29, at 7 pm and Mass of Resurrection, Tuesday Sept. 30 at 9 am. Both Services will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 8500 8th Ave. NE, Seattle. In lieu of flowers please gift Northwest Harvest 711 Cherry St. PO Box 12272, Seattle, WA 98102. I remember Neva with warm gratitude. When I was a postulant in 1971, I went home with Mary for a weekend - my first trip to Seattle! I remember the Sullivan's lovely home on 50th and Latona. Neva served the greatest Oyster stew. She was so welcoming. I have carried that weekend experience as a beautiful memory all these years.
