Paul Hutton Obituary

Paul T.N. HUTTON A year ago, Paul, at 27, was diagnosed with a mediastinal germ cell tumor (a rare form of testicular cancer). On October 31st, 2007, after a courageous battle, he left his cancer-ridden body, surrounded by family and friends, to be well again with the Lord. Paul was born in Seattle, raised in Federal Way, moved to Fife, and graduated from Covenant High School in Tacoma. Paul is survived by his wife, Kelli, of six years; sons, Gabriel (2) and Baby Paul (4 months); parents, William (Bill) and Joan Hutton; siblings, Elizabeth Putnam (Jim), Sharon Filkins (Thaine), Joy Nunamacher (Tom), and Ian Hutton (Heidi); several nieces and nephews; and many close friends. He is also survived by Kelli's parents, Bob and Dena Wall, who were much more than in-laws, but friends, that loved and cared for Paul. They put their entire lives on hold for over a year and supported him unconditionally through this horrific battle with cancer. We are eternally grateful for Grandma Joan, who lovingly cared for the boys, which enabled Paul and Kelli, Bill, Bob and Dena to fully focus on each appointment this past year. Paul was employed by Ambient Control in Auburn. He enjoyed snowboarding, snowmobiling, hiking, going to the cabin, and charitable events associated with martial arts. He was a true craftsman and could build anything and it was always perfect. His greatest joy was being a father, husband, and raising his family in believing that for God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Special thanks to Dr. Evan Yu, his nurse Hannah Holladay, and Adam; Dr. Ben Chue and Dr. Nick Chen; and for all those who prayed and supported Paul and his family. There will be a viewing open to the public on Monday, November 5th, from 3:00-7:00 pm, at Yahn & Son, 55 West Valley Hwy, Auburn, WA 98071. His memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 6th, at 1:00 pm, at the Tacoma Bible Presbyterian Church, 5 S G St, Tacoma, WA 98405. Child-care will be provided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Tacoma Bible Presbyterian Church" for The Paul Hutton Foundation, which will benefit Paul's boys.

It is with great sadness that we weren't able to attend Paul's Memorial service due to our family travelling back from California. Your family is continually in our prayers as you are dealing with this great loss. What an encouragement to know that Paul is in the arms of our Sweet Saviour.
With much love.

I am grateful to Paul's family who allowed me to follow his happenings through the carepages. Paul's family is one of deep spiritual strength and unassailable bonds of love. I feel as though I have been generously shown by example how to face serious illness with grace and faith. I wish you peace.

We are truly sorry we were not able to be in attendance at Paul's Memorial service. From past experience we know that there is comfort in the support of having family and friends in attendance but please know that you were all in our prayers today and we will continue to pray for you as you deal with your great loss. Our joy in the midst of sorrow is knowing that Paul is present with the Lord and that we will see him again.

Kelli - I don't know who wrote this poem but it has been a favourite of mine. I hope you find comfort in the words:

Memories
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints upon the snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain and
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am that swift uplifting rush,
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand by my grave and weep
I am not dead, just asleep

Thank you for the care pages that allowed us an intimate guide to who Paul is and how much devotion your family has for one another. May you be given peace as you gather together for Pauls memorial and the upcoming years until you can be reunited with him and our maker in a much more glorious place that Paul is now in. In Christ's Love, Lori and family

Hi, Kelli. You and Paul were always such a delight to be around. You shared a very special love and it was obvious. From the day Paul was born - God knew he'd need someone extra special to be his soul mate - and He chose YOU! You took such great care of him, Kel! Now, with your boys - Pauls legacy will live on forever! He will be with you always!

Paul in this life was the kindest and a very thoughtful person. I rejoice in his being with the Lord and have great sympathy for his loving wife Kelli and boys. I know in part how much Ian and the Hutton families will miss him they loved him best. I know he cared deeply for his in-laws, friends and the family of Chris Jesus our Lord. Till we all meet again in glory ... good-bye.
