Paul Sealock Obituary
Paul E. SEALOCK Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, September 21, 2002. Paul was born in Springfield, Ohio to Chester and Mary Sealock. After graduating high school he traveled west to Seattle. While in Seattle, Paul went to work for Boeing, where he worked on the original 707 passenger jet program. At the age of 19 he had the distinction of being the youngest parts inspector employed by Boeing. Shortly after the 707 project was off the ground Paul decided to join the Air Force. As a ground radar operator he traveled the world over. His specialty was installing and testing ground radar. He was so good at his job that he was asked to write the manual on the subject. While stationed in Germany he met the love of his life. Even though they couldn't speak the same language they fell deeply in love and eventually married. For the next 39 years Paul and Hanne were inseparable. During that time they raised three children, Liz, Steven and Rebecca. Somehow, Paul also found time to earn his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Business Administration. After 20 years in the Air Force, Paul retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. At that time he and Hanne decided to move the family to Kirkland, WA. He found his second career working for Sunstrand/Honeywell Electronics where he worked for another 2O years and retired as a Production Manager. He also discovered his second great love, sailing. Being on the water and cruising Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands was one of his greatest joys. He would spend weeks getting his boat ready for the annual sailing vacation with family and friends. Paul will be remembered as being an intelligent man, with a quick wit and a big heart. He did not desire material things and this showed in his generous spirit and his willingness to help his fellow man. His quiet manner belied his ability to tell endless stories about his sailing exploits. Paul is deeply missed and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Hanne, his three children Liz, Steven and Rebecca, his sister Marianne, and his four grandchildren; Andrea, Jordan, Monica and Alex. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 28th, 2002 at Green Funeral Home of Kirkland, 400 State Street, Kirkland, WA. 98033. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kirkland Fire Department.
