Doug and I wish to send our condolences. Grandma Lunde ("Auntie Toot") enjoyed spending time with Pearl and Dean over the years and so did we as we came to know and love them. There are also some fond memories that Grandma Lunde and the Jackson family had with Ernest Riddle on his boat, the "Cora May" which we know was also enjoyed by Pearl and Dean and their family. We know that Grandma Lunde enjoyed many dinners at Pearl and Dean's house too. Sadly, many folks from that generation have died and we miss them all. Doug and I cherish our connections, as well, to Pearl's family as they carry on the Riddle family traditions and love of life.

Dear Riddle Family,
The thought of your Mother brings a big smile to my face. She was such a fun, gracious woman, and an important part of my childhood. I will never forget the day in 4th grade when Patty and I rummaged through my sister's closet and found a book about female development. We went to my Mom in tears and she talked with us a bit and calmed us down. We then went to the Riddle home where Pearl, forewarned by my Mom, gave us her version of the "facts of life". It was quite a day, and Patty and I thought we were pretty cool, knowing everything! I can also visualize Pearl the night of Patty's slumber party just after the JFK assassination. All of us hysterical 13 year old girls were convinced that the Soviets were going to bomb us in our moment of weakness, and we were sure that was the cause of every sound we heard that night. Pearl had to be on double duty, trying to reassure us. She did so very well with her calm, loving manner.
My thoughts, love, and prayers are with you as you deal with your loss.

To all the Riddles,
We are very sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. She was a loving caring person to all and will never be forgotten. Pearl had a way of making you always feel welcome and I really did feel that I was a part of your family as we all grew up. Trips to the Juniper beach in the old station wagon with Champ, blackberry picking at those secret places where only the Riddles knew and running around the house on Newton, a house so big that it even had a room just for parties! Time has passed by, and we are all a bit older, I see from the outside that each of you has a bit of Pearl inside you, Pearl did a great job bringing you all up and it shows in everything that you do….. She is in a better place now, with Dean by her side and Don sitting next to her, she would want all of us to remember the good times and always keep a smile on our face.
With all of our love

Dear Family, I was so thankful to be able to spend time w/Pearl in her final hours! I have fond memories of family get-togethers during the Holidays, and times at Juniper. I copied off the obit. for dad (Stan); he is/was so saddened! As a fun way to remember her, I took Dasan for a ride up Pioneer Hwy, 'flying' over the rises in the road just as she used to do w/Linda and I. He giggled and giggled! So many good times over the years! She is missed!

I will never forget the kindness Pearl showed to me and my father. But, the best present Pearl gave to me is her sweet daughter, Patty, and the friendship we have shared for many years. Mike's and my thoughts are especially with you during this time. Your mother will be in my heart always.

I have so many amazing memories of Dear Aunt Pearl! I can hear her soft chuckle as I write this. I think of all those Christmas Eve's that we got together through the years and summer vacations at Juniper Beach. She will be missed! To my incredible cousins; may all the good memories bring peace to your grieving hearts.
I love you all!

Pearl was my dad's first cousin and it was such a joy to get to know her. She was very curious about Anderson Island where we live, and it was like an adventure for her to come here. One trait I saw in her was a love of adventure. She always seemed up for things and enjoyed life. Her greatest legacy is, I'm sure, the wonderful family she leaves behind.

I met Pearl at the bank in 1944. She soon became a lifelong friend. We lived together at the Ambassador Apartments. What a wonderful friendship for 64 years! In short time, I met her brother, Glenn, who became my husband. We had many great times between Camano Island and Christmas' at Queen Anne Hill and Bar G. I will miss exchanging a "bud for your bud vase". With much love!

Sorry to hear of your loss, but comforted by the joy your mother lived over the years. My parents (Lee Irwin family) always valued your parents' friendship very much.
