Robert Boldman Obituary

Robert Lee "Bob" BOLDMAN Professional Photographer/Father/Friend Bob Boldman was Born in Dayton, Washington in 1923 to Raymond and Nellie Boldman.. He graduated from high school in Walla Walla and met and married Pearl N. Dotson (Kim). Bob and Kim moved to Seattle and started their family of five children: The Children are; Stella (Mark) Gausman; Robert R. (Jane) Boldman, Jr. Laura (Dan) Jacoby; Gary Boldman; Debbie (Eddie) Ahuna. Bob was a creative photographic artist with a strong interest in technology. When Bob was a young man he made his first camera and started taking photographs. This was the beginning of a fifty-year career in photography that lasted until his first stay in a hospital this year. Bob was fascinated by modern technology and as a young 79 year old took classes and taught him self the techniques of computerized digital photography. During his life, Bob owned and operated several portrait photography studios in the Seattle area. The Robert Lee Studio in Stoneway was first, followed by the Robert Lee Studio Greenlake and then Boldman Portraits of Northgate. During his life Bob took portrait photographs and school photos of thousands of Seattle citizens. Later in his life Bob fulfilled his dream of living in Hawaii where he continued his career in professional photography taking portrait photographs of island locals and tourists in some of the most beautiful surroundings in the world. Bob returned to Seattle about three years ago where he rekindled old friendships and established many new ones. He was active in civic and professional organizations; with a long association with the Seattle Professional Photographers Association, Northgate Rotary, Kailua Rotary, Lake City Elks BPOE No. 1800, and the Masons. A young 80 year old, Bob passed away Monday, October 27, 2003 and is survived by his brother Dick of Walla Walla, his sister Laverna Lynn of Beaverton Oregon. Bob was proceeded in death by his Brother Larry of Pasco Washington. He leaves behind his wife Kim, five children, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Bob will be missed. We now realize the strength of his spirit and courage and zest for life. We can only hope to follow in his footsteps. We are extremely grateful to the Seattle Providence Medical Center and its fantastic staff for their heroic efforts and compassionate care. Please join us to honor the life of Bob Bolman Saturday, November 8th, 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Free Methodist Church in the Northgate area, 9412 15th NE, Seattle. Arrangements entrusted to Greenlake Funeral Home.

My heart is sad, and I send prayers of love and compassion to all the family. Mr. B was a 2nd father to me, Debbie a best friend from 5th grade. Bob and Kim took me in so I could finish High School in Seattle. And his potrait's continue to hang on my wall. Love to Kim, Debbie, Bob, Gary, Stella, Laurie, Kimmie June and the rest of the family..dawn
