Robert Bruce Obituary

Robert J. H. BRUCE Robert J.H. Bruce, 75, passed away October 2, 2002 after a long illness. Born in Great Falls, Montana, October 1, 1927 to Mary and Robert H. Bruce. Bob moved with family to Seattle in 1942. He attended Broadway and Garfield High Schools before joining the U.S. Marine Corps in July 1945. He served on the U.S.S. Atlanta and U.S. Massachusetts. Bob was discharged as a Second Lt. andattended Skagit Valley Jr. College where he was student president. he later graduated from University of Washington. Bob married Dorothy Basil in 1953. He owned 2 service stations and later became an audiologist at Sears for 12 years. Singing was his forte and acting his funny skits. He was such a favorite with all his family - a loving, humorous and sensitive man. "We were blessed to have him for our Dad." Survived by daughter Laurie, sons Paul and Kevin, loving companion, Alice Bol, grandchildren Randall and Jacqueline Bruce, Margaret O'Neill of Great Falls, Montana, Jean and (Tom) McNamara or Seattle, and many nieces and nephews. Son Randall preceded him in death. Thanks to the nurses at Northgate Rehab and Virginia Mason and Swedish. Memorial service at Kearns Chapel in Mt. Vernon, 1122 South 3rd St, Mt. Vernon, WA October 12, 1:00 PM. Burial in Fir ConwayCemetery.
