Robert Mathison Obituary
Robert Miles Mathison, 87, of Burien, WA passed away August 12th 2012.
He was born in Burke County, N. Dakota on May 24th 1925 to Otto and Rosetta Mathison. He attended Franklin High School. He served in the Coast Guard from 1942 to 1946. He worked as a carpenter/foreman for almost 50 years. He was survived by his wife of 52 years, Opal Mathison; children James (Jayne) Sherman of Bellevue, WA; Danny (Cher) Mathison of Barstow, CA; Mike (Tela) Sherman of Burien, WA; Lester Mathison of Tacoma, WA; Denise Carter of Federal Way, WA; Marlene Mathison of Des Moines, WA; and Lori Sones of Burien, WA.; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 1 great- great grandchild; Sisters, Ella Jensen of Burien, WA and Evelyn Axelson of Powers Lake, ND, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers, Elvin, Edwin, Benny and George; one sister, Ethel McKenzie and one grandson David Sherman.
Services will be held at 1:00 on Friday August 17th at Glendale Lutheran Church 13455-2nd Ave SW, Burien, WA 98146.

I am so sorry to hear about Bob, he was a fine man and wonderful with his family. Never will I forget him. And to all the children he raised with Opal, they did a great job. My prayers and thoughts are with Opal, Jim, Danny, Lester, Mike, Denise, Marlene, Lori, and all of their children.
I have many fond memories of Uncle Rob that I will cherish forever. He was an excellent carpenter, and built many beautiful homes. All of the paintings he did in his spare time are awesome. When he played his harmonica, I loved every minute of it. May God bless all of you with peace and fond memories.
