I lived three houses up the street from Bob's drug store in the Montlake community of Seattle. I worked part time at his drug store while attending the University of Washington. Bob taught me the value of hard work and the importance of keeping both active and to embrace learning new things. Bob mentored me during my formative years and we (and our families) remained friends over the years. When I was looking for my first full time job, Bob advised me to take the job I didn't really want, make all my mistakes there and then move on to the job I really wanted. This worked! Thanks Bob for your good advice and friendship over the years.

Uncle Bob was a go getter. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was always up for an adventure. He was a gunner during WWII and this I think may have influenced him to live life to the fullest. He put himself through college by driving a bus and graduated as a pharmacist from the University of Washington. He wanted to be a neighborhood pharmacist and did accomplish that dream. He also learned to fly and hip-hopped all over the USA seeing it all. He bought a motor home and also travelled all over demonstrating his love of the outdoors and adventure. He worked up until his stoke in 2013 and loved being busy. He loved his family and was a great man. He always said everyone must have goals and work to achieve them. He ran in a marathon in his eightys and achieved more than most during his lifetime. I loved him immensely and cherish the time I was able to learn from his experience and example. I will miss him until the day I die along with his wife Myrtle, my aunt whom was his partner and love for more than 65 years. They were the type of people that made this country great.
