Robert C. Small

Robert C. Small, age 90, was a UW graduate, a licensed professional electrical engineer in 9 states, and a company vice president. More importantly he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law.

Bob married Shirley Tate on September 7, 1952. They raised 3 children together, mostly in Seattle. Bob was always there for them: not only as children, but as a trusted adviser when adults.

In 1955 he started as a draftsman at the Leo A. Daly Company and retired as Executive Director in 1988. He coordinated jobs for LADCO all over the world. In 1961 he was awarded the Commander's Award from the Air Force for his contribution to the United States Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Program.

Bob loved golfing, fishing, photography, gardening and traveling. He was a genius with tools; frequently found in his garage tinkering with something. He could fix anything, and was passionate about his dahlias.

Bob and Shirley were active for 45 years at Calvin Church. Bob served an elder, participated in Bible study, in fellowship groups and countless hours volunteering his "fix-it" talents wherever needed.

Bob is survived by his wife Shirley, and three children, Michael (Patty), Stephen (Lisa), and Sheryl (Chris Bizak), and 6 grandchildren.

Memorial Service to be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 18826 3rd Ave NW, Shoreline, on September 18 at 2:00. Remembrances can be made to the building fund at Calvin; please specify the Building and Grounds Reserve Fund.
