I knew Roger as a young attorney with Murray, Dunham & Murray. Roger was a kind person that taught me much about practicing law. Roger will be missed. My sincere condolences to his family.

Dear Marilee, Sandy and Ryan,

I am so sorry for the loss of your father, Mr. Dunham. I want you to know I would have been at the funeral but I was unaware of his passing. I knew his name was Roger but we did not address adults in that way back in the '60s. I have a few memories of your Dad. Sitting in the back seat of the '64 1/3? Mustang convertible, I watched as Mr. D. methodically shifted through the gears hitting 4th before 20mph all the while constantly chewing gum. As Ryan's band manager, he unceremoniously cut me as lead singer, never to play my autoharp again. Behind the family cruiser, I learned to surf in its wake. The Dunhams had the only house with cork walls and front loading washer/dryer in a sunken kitchen. Mr. Dunham was a very accomplished man with many interests. I was watching a documentary years ago about Seattle; the overhead shot panned down to a sailboat in Elliott Bay. It was Roger Dunham sailing the Mondo Mer. He had assigned Ryan to name the boat from our Latin at Seattle Prep. I also remember the cabin at Stevens Pass and how Mr. Dunham bought Ryan a pair of Rosemont boots, the coolest ski boots on the planet. I got involved in the Boy Scouts because of your Dad and thank him for the great advice. My prayers go out to you, your Dad and your loving mother, Mary Alice.
Sincerely, Bob Sylvester

To Roger's children: The weather kept me from attending his service. I knew Roger from Scouting, Sailing and Skiing. He was a wonderful host. Your glass never got to half full before Roger filled it up. Hard to keep track of consumption. I ran into him at Stevens Pass, Roche Harbor and many times at Scouting events. I will miss him.
