Ronald Regis Obituary

Ronald Joseph Regis

Ronald Joseph Regis, 80, of Renton, WA passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012. Ron was born to Joseph and Fern Regis in Spokane, Wa. He was the eldest of 3, followed by brother Gary, and sister KC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda, the Love of his Life. He was a proud father to son Mitchell Regis and wife Cindy, daughter Rhonda Hewitt and husband Butch, and daughter Keely Austin and husband Craig. He was a loving Grandfather of 7 and of 9 great-grandchildren. He treasured the close bond he shared with his family.

He was raised in Seattle and attended St. Edwards Elementary, and Seattle Preparatory High School. He and his wife, Glenda resided in Renton where they raised their family. Ron worked in the floor covering industry for the family business for many years, later, working with his son, Mitch and dear friends at D & D Floor Covering. He retired in 2011. Always a sport enthusiast, he especially enjoyed softball and golf. He also served time in the Naval Reserve. Ron was a very active member of the community, serving as Park Commissioner on the Renton Park Board for over 40 years, and proudly had the honor of The Ron Regis Park dedicated to his name. He was a generous contributor to many charities and causes.

He found peace and pleasure in the warmth of the sun, and enjoyed planning many of the vacations that he and Glenda shared with their friends to Hawaii and Mexico.

Ron was a great friend to many, and the "go to guy". He was an organizer and planner and would do anything for a friend.

He was loved immensely, and is deeply missed. Ron will be placed to rest with his wife Glenda at Greenwood Cemetery. There will be a Memorial Service in his Honor, September 12th, at noon, at the Renton Community Center. 1715 SE Maple Valley Highway, Renton WA 98057. Remembrances may be donated to the City of Renton for Youth Sports Scholarships.
