Stanley Doi Obituary
Stanley S. DOI Stan passed away July 20th, 2010 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Stan was born in Slocan, BC, on Feb. 5th, 1947, the second youngest son of the late Kenichi and Sumiko Doi. After attending college, he started his forestry career with Triangle Pacific until 1983 when Stan and his family moved to Couer d'Alene, ID to pursue a career in the US. Stan worked with several manufacturing companies large and small. His assignments took in several states and Pacific Rim countries. His interests were photography, fishing and researching the business world. Stan leaves behind his wife Betty, son Chad, brothers George, Larry, James, Gary and sisters Mae, Edna, Rosie, Aggie and Mary. A special thank you to Dr. Vincent Picozzi and the staff at Virginia Mason. Memorial service will be held Sat. July 31st at 2pm, at the White River Buddhist Temple, 3625 Auburn Way N, Auburn, 98002. A celebration of life reception will follow at 3:45pm at the Best Western Park Plaza, 620 South Hill Park Drive, Puyallup, 98373 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network - pancan.orgTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

I got to know Stan when we both worked at Rayonier, he was a no nonsense, straight to the point guy. I kept in contact up to until the time he moved to Oregon. I thought the most of Stan and will miss the chats we had about the forest products business and the current events of the day. I will truely miss him, his laugh, and his ability to put things into perspective.

It's hard to believe. The phone rings and I think it may be my Uncle Stan calling me to chat while he is on his way to another city, another trip.
I enjoyed our chats. Often he would talk to my mom, but if she wasn't around he would ask about her before inquiring about my activities. He was interested in what I was up to and encouraging me to continue with my activism.
He's not really gone. I can hear his voice, his laugh and feel his strong spirit.
Stan will not be forgotten. He has touched our lives and will be forever in our hearts and memories.

Stan had a powerful warrior spirit, fighting to remain here with his family. He lives still within all of us who loved him.

Stan was my brother and my best friend. He taught us to show love and affection. He was a compassionate person and always mindful of our well-being. He believed in the family unit. He was always fair, honest and rational. He will be forever in our hearts as if he never left us.

I worked with Stan while he was at the Tacoma Home Depot store. He was a splendid person to chat with as he had so many interests. Stan was kind to everyone and admired for his ability to accomplish the tasks at hand with quiet humor. He is remembered as a good and honorable person. My wishes for peace go to his family.

Words can't express my sadness of losing my beloved uncle. Stan touched the lives of everyone that he came in contact with. He was an amazing and wonderful husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend. I take comfort in knowing that Uncle Stan is now with Grandma and Grandpa and he's taking care of them. There are places in my heart that will forever treasure his love and strength. There are places in my mind that will forever remember his stories and traditions, his humour and generosity. Memories of Uncle Stan will always hold an important place in my life. He will be truly missed! My heart goes out to Auntie Betsy, Chad and Sara. I'm thinking of you, always
