He was a great bother-n-law, friend and mentor. If you had a question he had an answer or sound advice. A superior athlete on the B-court and a all around solid person. You'll be missed for years into the future. Have a good journey friend, we all miss you.

A tall silent but strong tree. A fierce but gentle lion. What a man, what a man. I have been blessed to enjoy my uncle's presence, his advice, and his love. If you didn't know him you missed out. If you knew him you know what you will miss. Oh but what a wonderful time I had with him. He was definately a man who was family oriented and cared for others. I am so happy he enjoyed his life and I enjoyed seeing him enjoy it. Don't be sad because I can honestly say he used his time wisely. He is our example. You never know when your time will expire so make sure you live your dreams, go where you want to go, and be all you can be because tomorrow is not promised. LEAVE YOUR STAMP on life like my Uncle Virgil did. Much love to my family and I wish I could be home with you all.

I would like to extend my condolences to Virgil's family. I was part of his Seattle Times family and came to know him well through his work on The Loading Dock Fund for the Needy, which raised many thousands of dollars for needy people in our community. Virgil was a gentleman and a gentle man, someone who inspired those around him to the same. Virgil was a special guy and the world is a lesser place without him.
