Walter J. Hill

Walter J. HILL Walter J. Hill, 92, was born Dec. 16, 1912, in Clinton, Washington, and died Sept. 2, 2005, at the Washington Soldiers Home in Orting, Washington. Walt graduated from Everett High School and University of Washington with a BS in Zoology. He served two stints in the Army, serving much of that time at the historic Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. He was a long-time zookeeper at the Woodland Park Zoo. Walt loved animals and birds, enjoyed fishing, read avidly, and was a devoted husband to his wife, Lucinda. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle or to an animal shelter of your choice.
