Yancy,
John and I miss you dearly... The world will have a little less laughter because of you... I know you'll be joining us on our hikes. :)

Yancy, you were a great vintage - a little nutty with a hint of twisted humor and more than a touch of heart. Rest well, my friend. I'll miss you.

Every time I see Rainier in the distance, or go to the coast, or travel in Olympic National Park, I will be reminded of you. Travel well, friend.

Yancy, I will miss my hiking partner, beer-drinking buddy, and best friend. The trails will be quieter without you.

Yancy,
You were like a brother to me. You were kind, loyal, fun, and sometimes a pain in the hiney. I am grateful to have had the fantastic time with you that I have had. You deserved so much more. Very few people invest so much hope and love into the people around them. I hope that is something I can learn from you. I hope you know how special you were.
