Yesterday

My condolences on the passing of Mr. Hart. As an athlete growing up in Sedalia I really appreciated the fine job he did covering the local teams. It was always fun to open the Sedalia Democrat and read his articles as they captured not just the scores but also the times we lived in. I left Sedalia almost 50 years ago but will always remember Mr. Hart.

Mr. Hart was a sports writer for the Democrat when he covered our Little League run all theater through Regionals in 1969. I the Summer of 1972 he covered our Jr. Babe Ruth teams run to the World Series! The paper had Photos, articles and interviews like never before. Years ago I contacted him via social media and told him how much those clippings meant to us. Especially now that so many years have passed. God Bless

Worked with and for Vaughan at the Sedalia Democrat for four years. I was a sports writer and had many good times with Vaughn. He was a good mentor in that business. Have kept in touch with him over the years and will miss him now.
