George Upton Obituary
He was born November 2, 1935, in Windsor, MO, to Albert and Audrey (Paige) Upton.
He married DeLaine Griffith on October 12, 1956 at Smithton Baptist Church.
He had many occupations over the years. He started in high school traveling from farm to farm testing milk. He became a partner and later owned the Green Ridge Grocery and Locker where he and DeLaine worked for 13 years. He sold mobile homes, Farm Bureau Insurance, real estate and even Amana Radaranges, among others. One particular hobby that he and DeLaine learned was piloting small planes.
He was an appraiser with Continental Appraisal Company, starting with them in Sedalia, MO. The company later moved him, his wife and daughter to Dubuque, Garner, and Manly, all in Iowa. He continued as an appraiser in Warsaw, MO. When that job was finished, he and DeLaine moved to Sun City, AZ where they both got jobs with the State of Arizona and lived for 21 years.
During retirement, he and DeLaine traveled to many destinations, such as Jamaica, Belize, Mexico and the Bahamas, just to name a few. An especially notable excursion was a camping trip through Canada and Alaska.
When they finally moved back "home" to Missouri in 2005, they bought-in at John Knox Village East in Higginsville. They continued to take commercial bus tours. They enjoyed trips which JKVE provided, like the breakfast bus, dinner bus and day trips to see many interesting sites. They have enjoyed the care and close knit community of friends and family there.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Joe Upton and a sister, Alice Bronson.
H is survived by:

Daughter: Kristy Aeschbocker (Larry) of La Belle, MO
Brother: Clyde Upton (Betty) of Higginsville
5 Grandchildren 12 Great Grandchildren 10 Great Great Grandchildren
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th at 10:00 am at Grace United Methodist Church. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 am.
Memorials are suggested to Green Ridge Presbyterian Church or Grace United Methodist Church.
