James George Elliott

1942 - 2022

James George Elliott, 79, of Eudora KS, died Monday, April 4, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospital.
He was born September 30, 1942, in Marshall, MO. He was the only child of the late M. Glenn
and Ruth M. (Winters) Elliott.
The Elliott's followed the shoe factory from Sedalia to Slater where Jim graduated high school in 1960, returning to Sedalia after attending Central Methodist University. While pursuing his musical career, playing saxophone and lead vocals in several bands in Sedalia and Kansas City, he met and married Linda (Williams) Rank and became an instant family, Jim, Linda, along with sons Jimmy, and Bill. Soon followed Laura and 7 years later, Stacy.
Working first as a Radiologist, Jim eventually went to work at the Ford Motor Company plant in Claycomo and he accepted promotions to move to St. Louis, Louisville and then finally back to Claycomo. Retiring from Ford in 1999, Jim enjoyed working at the Cabela's in KCK during his retirement years.
Linda preceded him in death in 1987 but he found renewed happiness when he met and married Marcia Sellars in 1996, moving to Eudora, KS.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Elliott of Lawrence, KS, his son, James Rank; his daughters Laura Klausing (Steve) and Stacy Elliott (Steve Panzica) of Kansas City, MO; his stepson, Chad Sellars (Dixie) of Rich Hill, MO; his granddaughters, Tara Rank and Jessica Rank of St. Charles, MO; his grandsons, Zane Klausing, Finn Sumrall and Wyatt Klausing of Kansas City, MO; one great-granddaughter, Abigail Winkler of St. Charles, MO and his favorite cousin (he would say brother), William Winters of Richland, WA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Elliott, and son William Rank and many beloved members of his extended Winters family.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, at a later date.
