Janette Harms

Janette F. Harms, 62, of Ionia, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at her home. She was born on October 29, 1963, in Windsor, Missouri, a daughter of Larry and Margie (Schenewark) Means.
Janette was raised on a farm south of Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1982. She got her first job while in high school working for Banks Feed Store in Lincoln. After graduation, she worked for Sharon Johnson Tax Service until receiving her real estate license and going to work for Missouri Land Brokers. Janette was then employed at Waterloo in Sedalia for many years, and also worked as a secretary for Van Dyke Enterprises, a crop adjuster for Rain and Hail, and at Backwoods Guitar in Sedalia.
On August 4, 2007, at St. John's Lutheran Church near Cole Camp, she was united in marriage to Brent Harms and gained three daughters. They made their home on a farm near Ionia.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, near Cole Camp, Missouri. Janette enjoyed listening to live music, dancing and going riding on her '02 Night Train, but cooking was her passion. She had a knack for making leftovers into a whole new meal.She is survived by her husband, Brent Harms of the home; mother, Margie Means of Lincoln;children, Trey Glenn and Amber of Warsaw, Jasper Glenn and Macey of Warsaw, Shallie Harms and Matt of Cole Camp, Josie Harms of Republic, and Devon Harms and Casey of Republic; sisters, Marla Lange and her husband Bruce of Cole Camp and Donna Means and her husband JP Short of Lincoln; and grandchildren, Rachel, Isaac, David, Rebekah, Emery, Alivia, Gentry, Dani, Ronan, Hattie, and Roland.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Means.
The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Lutheran School Gymnasium in Cole Camp, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tyler Poppen officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery near Cole Camp. Pallbearers will be Trey Glenn, Jasper Glenn, Eron Harding, Ben Van Dyke, Scott West, and Steve Knox.
