Lois Ditzfeld Obituary

Lois J. Ditzfeld, 94, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at First Christian Church in Sedalia, with Rev. Dr. Chad McMullin officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, with Jamie Ditzfeld, Scott Ditzfeld, Kevin Ditzfeld, Andy Ditzfeld, Tyler Ditzfeld, and Christopher Ditzfeld serving as pallbearers. Her granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Sedalia.

Born October 20, 1931 in rural Sedalia, she was the daughter of the late Adam Patrick Scott and Ada May Spires Scott. On March 18, 1951 in Sedalia, she married Richard A. "Dick" Ditzfeld, and he preceded her in death on January 10, 2005.

She is survived by three sons, Michael J. Ditzfeld (Carol), Patrick L. Ditzfeld, and Gregory L. Ditzfeld (Louetta), all of Sedalia; nine grandchildren, Jamie Ditzfeld, Holly Rogers, Amy Ditzfeld, Kevin Ditzfeld, Andy Ditzfeld, Christopher Ditzfeld, Cassandra Ditzfeld Poe, Scott Ditzfeld, and Tyler Ditzfeld; five step-grandchildren, Adam Suntken, Holli Hollis, Danyell Pulido, Kenneth French, and Sandra French; fourteen great grandchildren, Jamie Gail Ellebracht, Briana Elkins, Savannah Ditzfeld, Brooklyn Ditzfeld, Addison Poe, Emerson Poe, Jenson Poe, Jerrick Ditzfeld, Camden Ditzfeld, Bailey Hieronymus, Charli Rogers, Easton Ditzfeld, Mack Ditzfeld, and Pepper Jo Ditzfeld; a step-great-grandson, A.J. Brooks; and a sister, Virginia McAllister of Sedalia. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard "Rick" Ditzfeld; three sisters, Geneva Caton, Beulah Stone, and Irene Sigman; and a brother, Robert J. Scott.

Mrs. Ditzfeld was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Sedalia, and the Bethany Sunday school class. She was a 1949 graduate of Smith Cotton High School. She retired from Third National Bank after twenty years of service. She was a member of the Third National Bank Retiree's Club, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, served on the Board of Trustees of the Reed Center Apartments for thirteen years, and was their Social Director for ten years. She enjoyed traveling, scrapbooking, picture puzzles, and being involved in her grandchildren's activities.
