George Schlumbohm

BOWLING GREEN -- George E. Schlumbohm, 94, of Bowling Green passed away on March 18, 2026 at Wood Haven Health Care in Bowling Green. He was born May 8, 1931 to Karl and Katherine (Gaylord) Schlumbohm. He would later serve his country in the United States Air Force. Upon his honorable discharge he married Janis Glassford on February 4, 1954 in Hoytville, OH. George and Janis had 4 children and celebrated 57 years marriage together, until Janis' passing in 2011.

George worked 20 plus years for Sears in retail sales before he retired. Following retirement, he owned and operated Bradner Lumber for another 8 years. George, remained self-employed as a carpenter and painter well into his 70's. He was a member of the Pemberville Masonic Lodge #516 F.&A.M., and a past member of the Scotch Ridge Presbyterian Church. George was an avid coin collector, he enjoyed traveling, wintering in Florida, and attending flea markets. His favorite joy was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

George is survived by his children: Craig (Jeanne) Schlumbohm of NC, Keith (Randi) Schlumbohm of Bowling Green, and Karla (David) Leady of Luckey.

Grandchildren: Rebecca Puckett, Eric (Gretchen) Schlumbohm, Lyndsey (Anthony) LaRocca, Matt (Lisa) Schlumbohm, Michael (Micaela Yoder) Leady, Kyle (Samantha) Schlumbohm, Brent (Jessica Lang) Schlumbohm, great-grandchildren: Jackson, Ethan, Lincoln, Liberty, Gauge, Ruger, Emmett and Madisyn. Sister, Nancy Stillberger of Findlay, and special companion, sister-in-law, Marilyn Schlumbohm. In addition to his wife Janis, he was preceded in death by his parents, son, Eric Schlumbohm, brothers: Richard Schlumbohm, and Bill Schlumbohm, sisters: Gladys Herr, Ruth Williams, Emma Tyson, Myra Williams, and Mary Riker.

Family and friends will be received 9-11 a.m., with a Memorial Service at 11 a.m., on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home 110 Main Street Luckey, Ohio. George will be laid to rest next to Janis in Pemberville Union Cemetery Pemberville, OH. Officiating will be, Pastor Brandie Bailie.
