Kenneth Spaulding Obituary
Ionia
Age 94, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015 with his family at his side. He was born on October 16, 1921 in Pewamo the son of Perry and Bessie (Jennings) Spaulding. Kenneth graduated from Pewwamo High School in 1938, he loved the outdoors and was a great hunter, fisherman and trapper for many years. He also loved and was a collector of Native American Indian history. In 1943 he married ArnaGail Leiter and together they raised four children. Kenneth was a great painter and decorator, retiring from the Riverside Correctional Facility as a paint foreman. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Dorothy Pletz and Maxine Wright; brothers-in-law Fritz Pletz, Keith Wright and Armon Leiter; sister-in-law Ruth Wright; nephews Jim and Dan Wright. Surviving are his wife of 72 years, ArnaGail; children Linda L. Lee of Ionia, Connie Avery of Sanford, FL, Denise (Rick) Demmink of Lowell and David (Lori) Spaulding of Ada; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law Ruth Possehn of Phoenix, AZ; many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Luncheon will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Steel St. Hall, 115 S. Steele St., Ionia. The family will receive friends at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice in memory of Kenneth D. Spaulding. Arrangements are with Lehman Funeral Homes.
