Goldie Miller Obituary

SHELBYVILLE- Goldie Rice Miller, 85, of Shelbyville, died on Sunday, the 27th day of June, 2021, at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville. A native of Shelby County, she was the daughter of the late John and Emma Rose Smith Rice. She was a member of the Shelby Christian Church. A retired employee of General Electric in Louisville, she was also a former employee of Flowers by Sharon. She was a member and past Worthy Matron of Chapter 170 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her family and friends will always remember her "heart of gold," and her ever ready willingness to help others. Cake decorating, working with flowers, arts, crafts, painting, and catering parties and weddings were among her many avocations. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Wesley Miller, and ten of her siblings.
Her survivors include her husband, Nolan Smith of Shelbyville; her sons, Terry Miller and his wife, Jeanne, of Louisville, and Keith Miller and his wife, Jennifer, of Shelbyville; her daughters, Carmen Hardin, and her husband, Steve, of Knoxville, Tennessee, Winifred Tatum and her husband, Drew, of Lawrenceburg, and Ellazane Miller of Bagdad; her sisters, Nancy French of Danville, and Frances Tate of Austin, Texas; and her eleven grandchildren and her twenty great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, the 1st day of July, 2021, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville, with the Reverend Jesse Baxter officiating. Interment will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, 30 June 2021, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Shelby Christian Church, 2375 Frankfort Road, Shelbyville, Kentucky 40065. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville, and condolences may be expressed at www.halltaylorfuneralhomes.com.
