Kenneth Dennie Obituary

Kenneth Dennie Sr., 90, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Crestview Health and Rehab in Shelbyville. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. He had been head custodian at Wright Elementary for 14 years. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WW II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and George C. Dennie Sr.; son, Gary Dennie; brother, George Dennie Jr.; and daughter in law, Caleta C. Dennie.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Frances "Frankie" Dennie of Shelbyville; sons, Kenneth Dennie Jr. of Shelbyville, David Dennie (Rachelle) of North Carolina; grandchildren, Michelle Clark (Keith) of Shelbyville, David Ray Dennie of Washington, D.C.; great grandchildren, Lauren Clark and Garrett Clark, both of Shelbyville; brothers, Leonard Dennie (Frances), Lee Dennie (Jeannie) of Louisville, Bobby Dennie of Shelbyville, Donnie Dennie (Carolyn) of TN; and sister, Mary Helen Likes of Shelbyville.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 28 at the Shannon Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Kimes officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2388 Burks Branch Road, Shelbyville, KY 40065.
